The moon has been observing us for millenia - what stories could it tell us if we asked?
The lyrics were written in iambic pentameter like a shakespearian sonnet.
lyrics
I crave the moon and gaze across the sky;
But why are you, my muse, so far and high?
Is it a smile, a grin that you display;
Bravery, poise, or nerve, or simply dismay?
You hide, you shy away, but if you might
Share with me, your clouded secrets tonight?
Tell me legends of long ago,
Ancient lore to keep me awake,
Famed deeds of a lonely hero
That sleepless nights never forsake.
The sun drowns on, but you, superb, have risen,
A grand hymn to lead a new horizon;
Full of old winged beasts, wyverns, and dragons,
That fill this dark night with curious visions.
They yield and fade away to sparkling stars,
Painting my dreams and making this sky ours.
Tell me legends of long ago,
Ancient lore to keep me awake,
Famed deeds of a lonely hero
That sleepless nights never forsake.
They yield and fade away to sparkling stars,
Painting my dreams and making this sky ours.
